BASICS.

SERIES ⌑ The Vampire Chronicles.
AGE ⌑ Forever 21. ( 225 as of Queen of the Damned, January 1986. )
D.O.B. ⌑ November 7, 1760. Scorpio. Wink.
HEIGHT ⌑ 6'0".
HAIR ⌑ Blond, curly, shoulder-length, immaculate. Worn loose as often as possible.
EYES ⌑ Blue-grey. Vibrant and reflective, noticeably inhuman. Often kept behind violet sunglasses.
GENERAL IMPRESSIONS.
WELL THAT'S OBVIOUSLY A VAMPIRE ⌑ ( He stepped close to my bed and leaned down so that his face was in the lamplight, and I saw that he was no ordinary man at all. His gray eyes burned with an incandescence, and the long white hands which hung by his sides were not those of a human being. )
So yes, it's fairly obvious. Lestat doesn't pass very well as a human man, but then again, he doesn't try very hard these days. His skin is stark white and smooth as marble, his nails look like glass even when they're filed down, and his eyes catch and reflect light like a Mary Sue fever dream. He has large fangs that show when he laughs. Medically speaking, he's a corpse whose heart is kept beating by the will of a blood-starved demon. He moves with an uncanny valley quality, too smooth or too broad or too still. The full picture can vary from captivating to terrifying — this is a predator giving off subconscious predator signals. He is also, despite all of this, impossibly, angelically beautiful. That's bait.
VISUAL ⌑ ( He came in from the courtyard, opening the French doors without a sound, a tall fair-skinned man with a mass of blond hair and a graceful, almost feline quality to his movements. )
The attractiveness bears repeating, because it's kind of his thing. He has the conventionally handsome features of a movie star (let's say Tom Cruise) and the presence and charisma of a movie star (let's say Tom Cruise). His build is lean and athletic, with broad shoulders and slim hips, and gives the impression of some decent muscle underneath all the ruffles. Since he was turned at twenty-one, he looks just ambiguously old enough not to get carded often.
FASHION ⌑ ( Lestat thought the best color at all times for vampires was black, possibly the only aesthetic principle he steadfastly maintained, but he wasn’t opposed to anything which smacked of style and excess. )
Dresses well, dresses expensively. Tends toward black and jewel tones with occasional dove grey. Embellishments preferred. Embroidery? Yes. Tasteful sparkles? Please. Casually, he likes leather jackets and the occasional ironic t-shirt — a Grateful Dead concert tee is a favorite. Usually wearing at least one gemstone or cameo ring, no matter the outfit.
DEMEANOR ⌑ Elegant, confident, mercurial. Lestat demands to be noticed, even when he isn't speaking. He's quick to laugh and quick to anger, highly animated and inclined to talking with his hands. He has very little regard for personal space — pats backs, holds hands, slings arms around shoulders. However, he's inhumanly still when he isn't moving, and prone to hour-long fugue states where he'll stare at the pattern on a carpet without so much as breathing.
VOICE ⌑ Mid-high range, light French accent. Fantastic singer. Prone to laughing fits. His voice carries — he wants to be heard. Hilariously, vampires are also excellent vocal mimics, and the volume of their voices can be much louder or softer than humans.
SCENT ⌑ Vampires have, notably, absolutely no scent. Might be wearing expensive cologne. If he's fed that night, lingering traces of blood.
MEDICAL ⌑ Is, for all intents and purposes, a flawlessly preserved corpse. His heart beats, but the rest of his organs are nonfunctional or ornamental; breathing is reflexive, not necessary. He can't generate his own heat, and he sweats and cries blood. Aside from that, he's in pretty good shape.
MENTAL & SUPERNATURAL ⌑ Lestat is both a psychic and an empath; he can project thoughts and read minds. He's capable of some mental shielding, but he rarely puts much effort into it; this means he may not notice a more powerful psychic in his head, but he'll be furious if he does. That said, his thoughts and feelings are incredibly loud.
To those with spiritual or occult sensitivities, Lestat will read as any or all of the following: vampire (obviously), undead (literal dead body!), and possibly demonic (though expressly not in a Biblical sense). The last is complicated! BUCKLE UP. What makes vampires vampires is a host relationship with an ancient spirit*. This spirit is the source of their physical transformation, their powers, and their bloodlust. It's also a bit like a subconscious hivemind, and what happens to the host of this spirit (#shoutout to the Queen of the Damned) happens to all vampires. It's too intrinsic to what he is to read as a separate presence, but it will certainly feel very old and very hungry in a way that doesn't necessarily match up with your standard bloodsucker.
* ( It's also an Ancient Alien as of 2016, because Anne Rice keeps taking Ambien and falling asleep to the History Channel. Please don't make me acknowledge this. )

ABILITIES.
vampirism and you. post-akasha abilities have been noted.
IMMORTALITY ⌑ Being a sexy sexy creature of the night comes with functional immortality: no aging, eternally perfect skin and hair, and the ability to recover from most physical injuries, given enough time and blood.
INVULNERABILITY ⌑ Much tougher and sturdier than a human. Has a blood-dependent healing factor. A freshly-fed vampire can heal from nearly any wounds, no matter how grievous. They can reattach lost limbs and recover from horrifying physical trauma — but without blood, the wounds tend to linger. And linger. Forever.
STRENGTH/SPEED/REFLEXES ⌑ Can easily scale walls and leap to catlike heights, and can move too fast for human eyes. Doesn't tend to make noise when he walks. Can lift heavy stones and dent metal. (1985: strong enough to bend a penny in half. 1986: way the hell stronger than that.)
SENSES ⌑ All greatly enhanced. Liable to go into an aesthetic trance at any moment.
PSYCHIC ⌑ Can read and influence thoughts, especially those of mortals. Neither patient nor manipulative enough for very intricate hypnotism (if he even has the skill for it), preferring subtle nudges and playing with his food. He can have psychic conversations with other mind-readers, but he doesn't have much practice. (1986: constant low-level mortal thought reading, difficult to shut out. Can achieve mental contact over very great distances.)
RESTRAINT ⌑ Can go a far greater length of time without needing to feed, but the thirst is stronger. (1986.)
FLIGHT ⌑ Enough for a trip across the Pacific. (1986.)
TELEKINESIS ⌑ Mostly for picking locks and channel surfing. (1986.)
PYROKINESIS ⌑ Mildly upsetting. (1986.)
➺ WEAKNESSES
FIRE ⌑ If it doesn't kill him, it will certainly do a hell of a lot of damage. Vampires burn quickly.
SUNLIGHT ⌑ Like fire, but bigger. (1986: after Akasha, the sun will only leave him with a depressing tan. 1990: said tan.)
DAYTIME ⌑ Vampires go into a deep trancelike sleep from dawn to dusk, and nothing can rouse them. They have a basic self-preservation instinct that will kick in enough for them to dig underground or attack someone trying to open their coffin, but it's unconscious and animalistic.
IC & OOC PERMISSIONS.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE ⌑ Yes! He's inclined to meet violence with violence, and almost never stops to think in the heat of the moment.
EMOTIONAL VIOLENCE ⌑ Yes! See above. Lestat fights mean, and says vicious things he later regrets. (I adore negative CR, but please don't hesitate to contact me to rework a thread!)
PHYSICAL AFFECTION ⌑ Hell yes! He will reciprocate at least twice as intensely.
ROMANCE ⌑ Complicated! He'll have a fling with a random human if he's bored, but he loses interest quickly, and that ends in murder. Highly unlikely to be sincere and very unlikely to be lasting — unless your name is Louis de Pointe du Lac. xoxo call me
SEXY STUFF ⌑ More complicated! Vampires are wholly incapable of sexual arousal, but deeply sensual; the desire for blood replaces most other urges. You can imagine where this is going.
TELEPATHY ⌑ Friendly mental contact will be met with friendly curiosity. He doesn't get to have a lot of mental conversations. Psychics may go snooping without permission, but if he notices, he's likely to respond violently.
DEATH ⌑ He'd genuinely like to see you try.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS ⌑ OOCly, none. ICly, he takes offense to everything and nothing. Do your worst.
FOURTHWALLING ⌑ Yes! The entire premise of Lestat's canon relies on these books being real, published novels in-universe. It makes perfect sense that some rando thinks he's a fictional character and knows weirdly intimate details about his life. That's a Thursday night for him. Come here and let him autograph your baby.
